Start With the Facts

Harmless, Common, and Yours to Decide

Pearly penile papules are small, dome-shaped bumps, usually skin-colored, that sit in one or two neat rows around the rim of the glans. They are a normal anatomical variant, common enough that estimates put them somewhere between 14% and 48% of men at some point in life, and they carry no infection, no risk of spreading, and no connection to hygiene or sexual history.

Nothing about them needs treating, so the decision sits entirely with you. If you would rather have them gone, removal is one short in-office visit. If you would rather leave them be, that is a sound medical choice, and we say so plainly.

The Flagship Standard

How the Flagship Handles It

Westchase is the practice’s founding flagship, keeps the deepest device bench of our three Florida offices, and staffs our only titled laser technicians. It applies the same exam-first standard here that governs our minor procedures menu.

An Exam Before Anything

PPP has a recognizable pattern, and a brief direct exam is what confirms it, separating the bumps from anything that calls for different care.

A Method Matched to You

Clinical references describe several removal approaches with different levels of invasiveness. The one that fits your case is settled at the exam, not before it.

Quiet by Default

You can open the conversation by phone or text rather than a form, and the exam, the decision, and the removal all happen behind a closed door.

Both of the treatments we build specifically for men in Tampa run on that standard, and our gynecomastia treatment page walks through the other one.

What to Expect

One Visit, Three Decisions

Each step ends with something settled, and every one of them is yours to call.

Reach Out Your Way

Phone, text, or online booking, whichever you prefer. No referral or prior diagnosis is needed to be seen.

Get a Definite Answer

The exam confirms whether the bumps are PPP and rules out look-alikes that need different care.

Choose, With No Push

If you want them removed, the plan is set in the same visit. Leaving them alone is an equally complete outcome.

Benign, and Optional

Am I the Right Candidate?

Pearly penile papules are benign, and they are neither a sexually transmitted infection nor an HPV finding. Treating them is cosmetic, which makes wanting them gone reason enough.

Why Men Ask About It

  • Small, evenly spaced bumps around the rim are what you are looking at, and you would like them gone.
  • A diagnosis from someone who has examined you beats one assembled from photographs at two in the morning.
  • How discreetly the appointment is booked matters to you as much as the procedure itself.
  • You have waited for this to resolve on its own long enough to conclude that it will not.

Confirmed by an Exam First

  • Several other findings present the same way, so what you have is confirmed before a method is chosen.
  • If it turns out to be something else, you are told directly and either treated or referred accordingly.
  • Removal here is cosmetic, which puts it outside anything an insurer would consider.
  • Irritation or infection in the area is settled before removal is scheduled.

There is no single default method for this, so it gets chosen at your exam by the location with our deepest device bench and our only titled laser technicians. Book a private consult at the Westchase office.

What Tampa Guests Say About Men's

Nobody reviews a treatment like this one in public, and we would not ask them to. What guests write about is how they are looked after at this office, which is the part of the visit we can show you in advance. Read more reviews from guests across all three Florida locations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are pearly penile papules an STI or caused by HPV?

No. Pearly penile papules are not sexually transmitted, and HPV plays no part in causing them. Genital warts look different under a direct exam, sometimes with a dermatoscope, and that distinction is well established in the clinical reference literature. The exam gives you that answer with certainty.

How is the removal method chosen?

Clinical references describe removal approaches that range from topical treatment to laser work and excision, and no single method fits every case. Your exam decides it. Westchase holds more of the practice’s devices than any other office, so that conversation happens where the widest set of options sits.

Who will I see at the Westchase office?

Tampa’s team of 14 is the largest in the practice, with three advanced-practice providers alongside three titled laser technicians. Dr. Tali Arviv, MD, who founded the practice in 2014, is the medical director for all three Arviv locations, and every plan written here sits under that oversight.

Do pearly penile papules go away on their own?

Usually not. They may fade a little with age, but most persist, which is why elective removal exists as an option with no deadline attached. When you are ready, our Tampa men’s program page shows how this visit fits alongside everything else we offer men here.
