What Removal Looks Like, Session by Session
Nobody removes a tattoo in one visit. Published dermatology guidance sets the expectation this office does: repeat sessions, spaced out, with the clearing happening in between. We take up the session-count question in a separate article, and your provider answers it for your ink at consult.
Consultation
Your provider maps the tattoo before touching a laser, noting which inks are in it, how deep they sit, and how your skin tone reads.
Treatment Sessions
Sessions are short enough to fit a lunch hour. The fading keeps going for weeks afterward as your body clears the shattered ink.
Spacing Between Visits
Visits land roughly 4 to 6 weeks apart. That gap allows time for your body to clear out the ink and for the treatment to work.
Reassessment
Your provider checks progress at every visit and the plan moves with it. The course length follows the tattoo, not a package sold up front.
Recovery between visits is quiet. The treated area whitens for a few minutes and sits slightly swollen for several hours. It looks close to normal within a day, and visible fading is seen over the next three to four weeks. Sun is the one thing to avoid during treatment, because tanned or self-tanned skin has to fade before the next session.
The course runs across months rather than one visit. Cherry offers flexible financing, and it is worth raising at consult rather than after.

Does PicoWay work on all tattoo ink colors?
Across a broad range, yes. Picosecond bursts fracture pigments that older laser types tended to leave behind, which is the practical reason Westchase runs PicoWay instead of a Q-switched machine. Your provider reviews your ink at consult.
Can I get tattoo removal if I have a darker skin tone?
Absolutely, though the exact calibration depends on your skin and your ink together, so your provider evaluates both in person. A shorter picosecond pulse puts less heat into the skin around the ink than the older Q-switched lasers did, and that is why it suits a wider range of skin tones.
I do not want the tattoo fully gone, just faded for a cover-up. Is that possible?
Yes, and your artist will thank you for planning it. Cover-up prep is a shorter plan than full clearance, because the ink only has to go light enough to work over.
Is the Tampa location the same standard of care as Miami or Ocala?
Yes. All three locations operate under the medical direction of Dr. Tali Arviv, MD. The protocols in Miami and Ocala are the ones you get here. Westchase simply carries the deepest device lineup of the three, PicoWay included.
