What is Renuvion?
Renuvion the best treatment on the market for skin tightening. It is minimally invasive and little down time. It is a medical device that combines helium plasma and a proprietary radiofrequency (RF). It is in a variety of procedures to stimulate tissue contraction by heating connective tissues directly beneath the skin.
How does Renuvion work?
The Renuvion technology started development over 20 years ago under the J-Plasma brand. Renuvion delivers even, controlled energy with exceptional precision. The plasma and RF energy are emitted simultaneously through a hand-held wand below the skin’s surface. It is able to safely and effectively direct energy towards a targeted area while minimizing thermal spread to adjacent tissues. The treatment results in a contraction of the soft tissue that doctors often report is noticeable immediately after the procedure. The results will continue to improve over the next 6-9 months as the body goes through the healing process.
Who is a candidate?
All patients qualify for skin tightening with this procedure if they are struggling with loose skin and do not want to undergo surgery or do not have enough loose skin for surgery. This is a great way to tighten up the neck skin, arms, inner thighs, abdomen, lower back and even chest. Anyone who is doing liposuction is a candidate for skin tightening with Renuvion. Although this is minimally invasive, it is still surgery so you do have to go through some basic clearance to make sure you qualify. Patients with pacemakers or defibrillators may not qualify. Uncontrolled diabetics with poor wound healing may not qualify. You can discuss your medical history with the medical provider during your consultation to determine if you are a candidate.
What should I expect during and after Renuvion procedure?
Anesthesia required prior and the procedure may be done under local anesthesia while you are awake, or under sedation. Once you are numb a thin wand is inserted at small entry points at the target area (similar to liposuction) and the energy is applied underneath the skin. Multiple passes are done in the area you want to contract the skin. This procedure may be added on to a liposuction procedure if the patient has excess fat but it is a great option for patients who don’t have fat and just want to do skin tightening. After the procedure you will be required to wear a garment for a few weeks. Results will be final in 6-9 months but some immediate results will be visible.
