What is Daxxify?
Daxxify is what is called a neurotoxin, which works similarly to other popular injections such as botox, but the science behind it allows it to last longer.
How Does Daxxify Work?
Daxxify works just the same way as other neuromodulators. It is absorbed by the nerve and blocks release of acetylcholine. This is the neurotransmitter required for muscle contraction. It’s coated with a peptide that is positively charged and therefore has a high affinity to the cell membrane. This positive charge is what enables the Daxxify to enter cells with ease and a larger amount of the product can enter the cells. The more neurotoxin that enters the cell, the more effective and longer lasting the treatment will be.
How Long Does Daxxify Last?
In studies Daxxify has been shown to last up to 6 months and in certain cases even longer, up to a period of 9 months. It should be noted that everybody is different, however you can expect that at the 4 month mark when a typical neurotoxin would wear off, this one may still have over 50% efficacy which means some result will still be present.
What is the difference between Botox vs Daxxify
There are some key differences between Daxxify and Botox which should be kept in mind:
- It is a vegan product unlike other products that have albumin which is a protein found in blood of humans and animals this one has a synthetic peptide which is a chain of amino acids.
- It may last longer than other neurotoxins. Up to twice as long.
- Fast onset. It begins to work within 1-2 days. It will still take 2-3 weeks to see the full result but you can start to notice a difference within 48 hours.
Does Daxxify Have Risks or Side Effects?
The side effect profile is similar to the other neurotoxins, ptosis, headache, bruising all between 0-2% risk.
