What is the VI Peel?
The VI (or Vitality Institute) chemical peel we perform here in Miami is a non-surgical, medical-grade cosmetic procedure. This type of chemical peel aims to reduce lines, wrinkles, blemishes, uneven skin tones, scars, spots, and other flaws. In order to perform this procedure our Miami aesthetic experts use a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients which are ideal for all types of skin. The results of the VI chemical peel are healtier and fresher skin with a more youthful appearance.
How the Miami VI Peel Works
This type of chemical peel works by exfoliating the top layers of skin, thereby removing the dead skin cells and revealing the more youthful and healthier skin beneath. The whole process only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes and can be done easily in our Miami office. The first step is cleansing the skin before then applying the VI peel with a soft applicator. The peel might cause the skin to experience a warm sensation, which is completely normal and only lasts a few minutes while the peel penetrates into deeper layers of the skin.

Why Choose the VI Peel?
The VI Chemical Peel treatment performed at Arviv Medical Aesthetics in Miami is not only safe and expedient but also requires no pre-treatment or recovery period. The skin is first cleansed followed by the application of VI Peel to your skin using an applicator or a soft brush. When the chemical starts to work, you may experience a tingly, warm sensation that rapidly diminishes. The process typically takes 20 to 30 minutes, but the chemical peel must remain on the skin for at least 5 hours.
TCA peels are considered to penetrate deeper than Al-IA or Bl-IA peels. Lower strength TCA peels require about seven clays of downtime, yield minimal to mild Flaking and may be layered to achieve a deeper ex foliation.
This method allows for greater control over the results compared to use of a mid to high-range TCA peel. Mid-range TCA peels may require seven lo 10 clays down time and produce moderate to heavy shedding . High range TCAs should be restricted to experienced users and have an expected down time of 7-14 days.
Deep strength TCAs generally yield heavy shedding and a compromised barrier for four lo six days. lt is important to note that TCA peels are nol recommended for darker skin tones as they may cause permanent discoloration. We offer at arviv 20%, 25% and 30%.

Chemical Peel Recovery:
Peeling will last for about two to three days, and you will have the post-peel kit to help you manage that. Q. How is the VI Peel different from other peels?
A. Peels of the past have emphasized the “no pain, no gain” approach to skincare. Deeper, more painful peels with extended downtime were thought to produce with better results. The VI Peel is painless, yet produces dramatic, visible results in just days.
Q. Does the VI Peel make the skin thinner?
A. No. By sloughing off old cells, skin renews itself at a faster rate. The skin actually thickens because the dermal matrix is stimulated to make more collagen an elastin.
Q. How many treatments are required to show visible results?
A. A single VI Peel will achieve significant repair and impart a healthy glow to the skin. It is a true restorative, painless repair of damaged skin cells resulting from UV exposure and acne. Best of all, it is an aging preventative for younger patients with no visible damage.
Q. Does a chemical peel burn?
A. Patients will feel a slight tingling sensation for a few seconds which subsides almost immediately. The peel is applied topically, with numbing of the skin taking place after the first pass.
Q. What about normal activities following the VI Peels?
A. There are no restrictions. Normal activities may be resumed immediately after the peel. For patients who exercise routinely, low impact aerobic activity would be advised for 72-96 hours.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR MIAMI CHEMICAL PEELS
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
The following procedures should not be performed for a minimum of 3 days before your chemical peel:
- Waxing
- Tweezing
- Electrolysis
- Laser treatments (any kind)
- Chemical peels (any kind)
If you have a history of herpes simplex virus (cold sores or fever blisters), in rare instances a reactivation of this condition could occur after treatment. Please inform your nurse or physician so that an anti-viral medication can be prescribed before the treatment. Avoid sun exposure 3 days prior to treatment.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

- Cleanse and moisturize your skin twice daily.
- Do not use any of the following products 72 hours after:
- alpha hydroxy acid
- glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid
- retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac)
- benzoyl peroxide
- Do not directly expose the treated area to the sun for at least 7 days after the treatment. Use a sunscreen every day that blocks both UVA and UVB rays, preferably one containing zinc or titanium dioxide which should not irritate the skin.
- The following procedures should not be performed for a minimum of 7 days after your peel:
